Aim of the course:
This course applies the foundations developed earlier in the MOOC to a specific sector, focusing on the use of XR in construction-related training contexts.
The course examines how immersive technologies can support safety training, sustainability awareness and skills development in the construction and Habitat sectors. It highlights XR applications that contribute to risk prevention, improved understanding of complex processes and alignment with green and digital transition goals.
Participants will explore how XR can be used as a complementary training tool to address real challenges in construction education and professional practice.
Main ideas:
- Understanding how XR can be used to prevent accidents and improve safety culture on construction sites.
- Exploring XR-based approaches for visualising building performance, life-cycle impacts and sustainable design options.
- Developing digital and green competences in construction through realistic simulations and scenario-based learning.
- Identifying organisational, technical and pedagogical conditions for implementing XR in construction-related VET.
- Reflecting on how XR can support the twin transition (green and digital) in Habitat and construction sectors.
