Aim of the course:
Building on the foundational concepts introduced in the previous course, this course positions XR within the broader landscape of emerging technologies and educational innovation in VET.
The course explores how XR relates to other digital technologies and pedagogical trends, supporting teachers and trainers in understanding when and why immersive solutions add educational value. It encourages informed and critical decision-making regarding the integration of XR and emerging technologies in vocational training contexts.
Participants will reflect on opportunities, limitations and practical considerations for adopting XR responsibly, inclusively and sustainably in their own educational settings.
Main ideas:
- Understanding the role of drones, 360° media and XR as emerging technologies in VET.
- Exploring how these tools can support green and digital competences (e.g. remote sensing, monitoring, data visualisation).
- Analysing the pedagogical contributions of projects such as Drones360° and VIRDUAL.
- Identifying opportunities, challenges and limitations (cost, safety and accessibility) in the use of these technologies.
- Reflecting on criteria for selecting and integrating emerging technologies in VET contexts.
