Aim of the course:
Building on the UX foundations introduced earlier in the MOOC, this course focuses on how interaction design choices shape learner experience and engagement in immersive learning environments.
The course explores principles of interaction design applied to XR, including affordance, feedback, navigation and spatial interfaces. Rather than addressing pedagogy or technical development, it examines how learners act within immersive environments and how design decisions influence usability, comfort and immersion.
Through practical examples and the TOURXPERIENCE case studies, participants will develop user-centred criteria for designing intuitive and effective interactions in XR-based training.
Main ideas:
- Introducing core interaction-design principles in XR, including affordance, feedback and consistency.
- Designing natural and intuitive interactions (gesture, gaze, spatial controls) that support comfort and engagement in immersive learning.
- Analysing TOURXPERIENCE case studies to understand user-centred interaction strategies in real XR training scenarios.
