Aim of the course:
This course serves as the entry point to the MOOC User Experience & Interaction Design for XR, establishing a shared understanding of user experience as a foundational quality criterion for immersive learning environments.
The course introduces VET teachers and trainers to core UX concepts in XR, focusing on how usability, comfort, accessibility and cognitive load influence learning effectiveness in immersive contexts. It provides a conceptual basis for understanding how learners perceive, navigate and interact with XR environments.
Participants will reflect on how UX decisions shape learner engagement, confidence and performance, preparing them to critically analyse and design immersive learning experiences in subsequent courses.
Main ideas:
- Grasping core UX concepts for XR, including usability, accessibility, comfort and emotional engagement.
- Understanding how to observe and evaluate user experience in immersive learning through feedback and usability testing.
- Identifying user-centred design principles illustrated by the VIRDUAL project and their relevance for VET.
